Acclimatization:
We recommend you be in Cusco at least 2 days before your trek to be acclimatized to Cusco’s altitude so that you won’t have a problem during the tour.

At 7:00 am, you will start the day tour from the hotel in Cusco. Driving for 2 hours, you will arrive at Limatambo. A beautiful valley with lots of avocado plantations and a sub-tropical climate where travellers can buy some last-minute supplies like water and some snacks because Chonta is a very small Andean village without shops or restaurants.

From Limatambo, we will follow a narrow dirt road with direction to the Chonta community (3,400 m). We then have a moderate hike for 1 ½ hour to reach out the lookout of Condors. There will be great views of the Apurimac canyon and Vilcabamba mountain range. With a little bit of luck we will spot some of the Condors overflying the canyon.
In the afternoon, we will walk back to the parking place of Chonta where we board our van and then drive for 3 hours to get back to Cusco city.
