Can I store extra luggage somewhere during the trek?

Yes, you can leave any extra luggage at your hotel in Cusco or with us, and it will be safe and waiting for you upon your return.

Is there a weight limit for personal items?

Each trekker is allowed a maximum of 7kg for personal items, which will be carried by our horses. This should include your sleeping bag and air mat.

Is travel insurance required?

While not mandatory, we strongly recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance that covers trekking activities, medical emergencies, and trip cancellations.

Are there age restrictions for this trek?

While there’s no strict age limit, the trek is more suited for individuals aged 12 and above. However, we’ve had both younger kids and seniors successfully complete the trek, so it’s more about individual fitness and determination.

How difficult is the 4-Day Salkantay to KM 82 trek?

The trek is considered moderate to challenging. While previous trekking experience is beneficial, it’s not essential. However, a good level of fitness is required. The highest point, the Incachiriasca pass, reaches an altitude of 4,850 meters. We recommend acclimatizing in Cusco for at least 2 days prior to starting the trek.
