Huaraz – Portada – Cruce de Cayesh
Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Huaraz (3,100m / 10,170 ft). A scenic one-hour drive takes you through the picturesque villages of Unchus and Llupa, where traditional adobe houses and terraced farmlands provide a glimpse into Andean life. The journey ends at Portada (3,900m / 12,795 ft), the starting point of the trek.
The trail leads into the serene Quebrada Quilcayhuanca Valley, a glacial valley surrounded by towering peaks and lush meadows. Enjoy an easy 4-hour hike along the valley floor to the campsite at Cruce de Cayesh (4,100m / 13,451 ft), located at the base of Nevado Andavite.
In the afternoon, you’ll have the option to explore the Quebrada Cayesh Valley, a short hike that provides close-up views of the majestic snow-capped peaks of San Juan, Cayesh, and Chopiraju. As the sun sets, return to camp for a delicious dinner and a peaceful night under the stars.

Today’s trek takes you higher into the Cordillera Blanca as we ascend gradually to our next campsite. The trail climbs steadily through alpine terrain, with increasingly dramatic views of the surrounding peaks. Along the way, take time to admire the rich high-altitude flora and the unique colors of the landscape.
The campsite, located on a plateau at the foot of Nevado Huapi (4,750m / 15,584 ft), offers an incredible vantage point of the surrounding peaks. Spend the evening enjoying the serenity of this remote location, with the snow-capped summits illuminated by the setting sun.

Huapi – Chocu Pass – Cojup Valley – Portada – Huaraz
The final day of the trek is the most challenging and rewarding. After an early breakfast, the trail ascends to the Chocu Pass (5,100m / 16,732 ft), the highest point of the trek. The climb is steep and demanding, but the summit offers awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Cordillera Blanca’s most iconic peaks, including Chinchey, Pucaranra, Huantsan, Ranrapalca, and Palcaraju.
After soaking in the views, begin the long descent into the Cojup Valley. The trail winds past glacial streams, rocky slopes, and lush meadows, eventually flattening out as you near the valley floor. The final stretch is a gentle walk along the valley to the road at Portada, where our private transport will be waiting.
