Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a guided tour of Cusco at 1:00 PM, where our knowledgeable staff will take you through the city’s rich cultural heritage. You’ll visit iconic sites such as Koricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, as well as the impressive archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay.

As the day draws to a close, the evening is yours to explore at your leisure. You can wander through Cusco’s charming streets, visit its unique shops, or dine at one of the city’s renowned restaurants, which offer a delightful mix of traditional and international cuisine. Your accommodation for the night will be at a carefully selected hotel in Cusco, where you can unwind and reflect on the day’s discoveries.

Day 3

Sacred Valley Wonders

On the third day, you’ll set off early from Cusco at 7:00 AM, embarking on a scenic journey to the Sacred Valley, a region renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and historical significance. Your first stop will be the Pisac Archaeological Site, where you’ll explore the impressive terraces and ancient ruins that offer a glimpse into the civilizations of the past, all while enjoying stunning views of the surrounding valley. Afterward, you’ll head to the town of Urubamba for lunch, where you can indulge in the area’s celebrated local cuisine (lunch at your own expense).

Continuing your adventure, you’ll visit Moray, a fascinating site known for its concentric agricultural terraces, and then the nearby Salt Mines, a testament to ancient Incan ingenuity. As you continue your hike, you’ll traverse diverse landscapes, experiencing the region’s rich biodiversity as you head towards the campsite at Wayllabamba. The day begins with a steady ascent to the trail’s highest point, Warmiwañusca, also known as Dead Woman’s Pass, standing at 4,215 meters above sea level. After reaching the summit, you’ll begin your descent into the serene Pacaymayo Valley, where the tranquil environment provides a perfect setting for rest and reflection. After exploring this site, you’ll continue over the Runkurakay Pass, descending towards the intricate ruins of Sayacmarca, known for its complex stonework and mysterious atmosphere.

Following a lunch break, the journey continues towards Phuyupatamarca, often referred to as the ‘Town Above the Clouds.’ This site offers breathtaking views and a unique sense of tranquility as you walk among the clouds. The day concludes at the Wiñay Wayna campsite, located near the beautiful ruins of the same name. This location is ideal for reflecting on your journey and preparing for the final leg of the trek.
