Shortly after your warm reception, at 11:15 AM, we will guide you through your accommodations and provide a detailed rundown of the activities planned. You’ll have the opportunity to settle into your traditional island housing, crafted from the same buoyant totora reeds that form the island itself.
Lunch is served at 12:30 PM, featuring local specialties that are as delightful as they are unique. Post-lunch, take some time to relax, absorb the tranquil surroundings, and prepare for an afternoon of cultural engagement. Starting at 3:00 PM, you’ll learn the art of placing and retrieving fishing nets, followed by an insightful demonstration on the multifunctional uses of the totora reed.
At 4:30 PM, engage in a hands-on workshop where you’ll work alongside local families to create handicrafts using the totora plant, a pivotal resource in the Uros community. As the sun sets around 6:30 PM, enjoy a communal dinner with your hosts, celebrating the day’s experiences.
