Ica – Cachiche – El Catador – Huacachina – Ica
Your tour begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Ica City Center or from the bus station. You’ll head straight to the Plaza Mayor, the main square of Ica, where you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the city’s vibrant heart. Then, you’ll visit the historic Luren Temple, Ica’s oldest and most significant church, known for its intricate architecture and spiritual importance.
After the city center, we will stop at Margarito, a traditional sweet shop where you can sample iconic Ica treats like Paciencias, Revoluciones, and Besitos, all made with the region’s famous pisco.
Next, the journey takes you to the mystical village of Cachiche, a place filled with legends of witches and sorcery. You’ll explore the Witch’s Monument and see the infamous Palmera de las 7 Cabezas (Seven-Headed Palm Tree), a tree with deep-rooted connections to local folklore.
From there, we head to the El Catador Winery, where you’ll learn about the traditional process of making pisco and wine. Our local guide will take you through the winery’s facilities, and you’ll have the opportunity to sample a variety of pisco, wine, and other local products like cachina and pisco creams. If you wish, you can also purchase some of the region’s famed products, including the delightful sweet Chocoteja.
After the winery visit, you’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch at the winery’s restaurant (lunch not included), where you can taste regional specialties such as Arroz con Pato, Carapulcra with Sopa Seca, or Seco de Pallares.
The tour concludes with a visit to the beautiful Huacachina Oasis, a serene lagoon surrounded by towering sand dunes and palm trees. Here, you’ll have time to walk around the oasis, take in the stunning desert scenery, and capture memorable photos. After this peaceful break, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel or the bus station.
